Meet The Team

After years of being an athlete, I was looking for ways to fill my cup with physical activity and friend told me about this weird sport, and I discovered CrossFit in 2015. I immediately fell in love with bettering myself and began competing locally. Once I graduated from OSU with a Bachelors in Kinesiology in 2018, I decided to pursue the life of a trainer. One decision after another led me to do this, and I began to build a community of people that want to be healthy together.

In my free time, my husband Steve and I love to get away and go to the Oregon coast to play on the dunes. We also have a 115 pound Rottweiler named Rogue that is the assistant coach to almost every class.

I have been doing CrossFit since 2016. I use to go to the YMCA and run on my own but realized I needed something more exciting. I googled local gyms and walked into one, beginning a whole new chapter of my life.

I started CrossFit as a thing to do and it has evolved into a lifestyle of a great community of supporters. I quickly learned that the people in this community want nothing but success for every one and it lit the flame of my coaching endeavors.

In my free time I enjoy spending time with my wife and channeling my inner child out on the Oregon dunes.

I began doing CrossFit in 2017. The reason I started to do CrossFit was to stay in shape for archery elk hunting and playing ice hockey (which I still do), but coaching was something I never knew I'd enjoy so much.
I am married and have a 10 year old daughter and wife who also does CrossFit with me. I started coaching in 2020 and learned that I love helping new people that enter the world of CrossFit. I personally wasn’t talented at CrossFit from the beginning and had to struggle to do small things like jump roping and running. Having that background helps me to teach other people who are walking in the doors in the same spot I was when I started.
My favorite movements now are any type of squats and burpees.

I started Crossfit in 2018 to gain my health back after having three children. My main focus at that point was losing “weight.” Little did I know I was stepping into a community of consistency, depth, strength and empowerment.
I initially decided to become a coach because I wanted to master the CrossFit movements as I grew into competing. I love to learn and see others excel and grow.
CrossFit is for everyone! There are no limitations. My mental toughness and body’s strength has shined through as I’ve battled cancers and endured many surgeries and health struggles over these past four years. I would not be as healthy as I am physically, mentally, or emotionally without CrossFit or the community that comes with it at HOP.
In my free time I love to compete in CrossFit Competitions. I also enjoy hiking and hanging out with my friends/children..

Hi I’m Susie Fong, I’m a wife and mom of 4 crazy kids. I spent a long time trying to figure out who I was and it wasn’t until I started lifting weights and joined a CrossFit gym did I completely feel at home. Over the last few years I have dabbled in many forms of exercise (marathons, bodybuilding, triathlon, ect) but nothing has brought me the joy I feel doing CrossFit.

I whole heartedly believe that CrossFit changes lives, I get such a deep sense of purpose as I coach and help others find a love for fitness and a sense of power they never knew they had.
I’ve continued to add tools to help me be the best coach and athlete I can be, where you need help with Olympic lifting, working through a pregnancy or postpartum stage, want nutrition coaching, individual training or you have a kid or teen who wants to try CrossFit I am here for you.
Other hobbies: reading thriller books, Harry Potter and shopping

I spent the last 15 years immersed in the world of mental health and addiction and noticed a connection between physical health and mental health. However, it wasn’t until my own diagnosis with an autoimmune disease that I truly began to take note of the role fitness and nutrition played in overall health.
In 2018 I started on my own fitness journey and from there I fell in love with CrossFit. I obtained
my CFL1 in hopes of helping others build a sustainable relationship with food and fitness!
I am always down to try any new sport, speak fluent movie quotes, and I enjoy kayaking, spoiling my dog, and reading.
